Comparison of solvent evaporation and ultrasonicassisted production methods in the development of nimesulide nanosponges and their characterization

Purpose: To compare solvent evaporation and ultrasonic assisted synthesis in preparation of nimesulide nanosponges using polyvinyl-alcohol Eudragit L100 as a polymer/copolymer dichloromethane cross linker.Methods: Twelve formulations were prepared, six with each method by varying the ratios both polymer co-polymer. The resulting evaluated characterized preformulation studies, production yield (%), differential scanning calorimeter, x-ray diffraction, Fourier transformation infrared spectroscopy, electron microscopy, entrapment efficiency actual drug content (%) in-vitro dissolution studies.Results: results revealed that formulation high amounts co-polymer methods showed crystalline structures enhanced rates basic media. Drug was higher for products prepared (74 %) than (61 %). This correlates increased solubility due to drug-polymer complex formation.Conclusion: Formulations made demonstrate entrapment. However, exhibit medium generally well other characteristics are comparable reported literature regard their comb like structure.
